October 2015 The Simplicity Solution Deployment Model The
Simplicity solution is an HA SAN solution enabled by HA-AP for constructing a
high-availability storage infrastructure within a single datacentre. HA-AP divides the system into Host Side and Storage Side (refer to Figure
2). A1, A2 ports of the HA-AP are dedicated to the Host Side, and B1, B2
ports are dedicated to Storage Side.
HA-AP contains two identical Engines that are clustered together to
provide data path redundancy. If one engine fails, the host multi-path
software will continue to access storage through the other Engine. FC SAN switches, represented by the zones in Figure 2, are used to
provide the physical connectivity among the hosts, storage, and HA-AP. Each
FC zone should be on different switches, or different blades of the
enterprise switch, to prevent single point of failure from bringing down the
system
